Cross-border trade

The border between Aneho and Aflao, its Ghanaian neighbor, is one of the most porous in West Africa. Every day, hundreds cross in both directions to trade, work or visit family. The Aflao and Aneho markets function as a single economic ecosystem. Products circulate: wax fabrics, electronics, spare parts, food. Prices vary across the border according to exchange rates and taxes, and local traders have developed sharp expertise in these differences.
